More or less useful information about Trondheim

  • June 13th to June 20th is among the brightest days of the year. In Trondheim, the sun goes down around 23:30 and you will see sunrise around 03:00. It never gets really dark!

  • You can drink tap water. It is not necessary to buy water in the store. Additionally that is quite expensive.

  • It is not allowed to drink alcohol in public places in Norway.

  • Almost all Norwegians can communicate well in English. If they don't answer you, it's probably because they're very modest.  

  • The village right next to Trondheim Airport where you arrive is named Hell. If you look to the left as you drive from the airport and out towards the highway, you will be able to see Hell shopping center and Hell hotel. 
  • Temperatures in Trondheim can range from about 10 degrees to 30 degrees during the day, and at night it can get even colder. But don't worry, it's not going to start snowing. 


  • Do not swim in the river that flows through the city. There are strong underwater currents that put even experienced swimmers in trouble. The river, on the other hand, is perfect if you want to see the city from a kayak or canoe
